Tyler Union Fire Release

Anniston, Alabama, August 24, 2011 — At approximately 12:30 p.m., Tyler Union experienced high stack temperature problems on the cupola. This caused a small fire. The fire department was called immediately, but plant personnel extinguished the fire prior to their arrival. No one was injured during the incident, and the situation is secure and under control.
It is estimated that the cupola will be down approximately a week while the team at Tyler Union reviews the circumstances surrounding the incident and repairs the damage to the cupola.
