McWane products stand the test of time

Clow Valve Corona team member Jose Martinez spotted this older hydrant (pictured on left) outside a family member’s house in Banning, California.  It might look a little worse for the wear, but it’s still up to the job.

An older Kennedy Valve hydrant is also still on the job in Elmira, New York.  This hydrant (pictured on the right) was featured on the “Forgotten New York” website in an article entitled “A forgotten NY walk, Part Three”.  In the article, the reporter said, “I found an antique fire hydrant on a 91st Avenue lawn embossed with the logo of the Kennedy Valve Mfg. Co. in Elmira, NY. I assumed the company must be defunct, but I was surprised to see it’s still going strong.
